Cincinnati Children’s has selected chief operating officer Steve Davis, MD, to succeed the retiring Michael Fisher as president and chief executive officer, effective Nov. 22.

Davis, 59, joined Cincinnati Children’s in September 2015. Previously, Davis held several roles at the Cleveland Clinic, including serving as COO at the 500-bed Hillcrest Hospital.

Davis earned his medical degree in 1989 from the University of Vermont. He also holds two master’s degrees; one in medical management from Carnegie Mellon University and another in strategic leadership from Michigan State University.

Fisher, 62, announced in April that he intended to retire as CEO after leading the healthcare system for 12 years.
