Catherine Hart Succeeds Dan Choo As Division Director Of Otolaryngology

Catherine Hart, MD, MS, has been named division director of Otolaryngology (ENT), effective Jan. 1, 2025. She takes over the role from Dan Choo, MD, who is stepping down and continuing in a clinical role at Cincinnati Children’s.

“Catherine has been an invaluable member of our division, bringing extensive expertise and a strong commitment to pediatric otolaryngology,” said Surgeon-in-Chief Dan von Allmen, MD. “We are excited to promote her from within our team to this key leadership role. We look forward to the continued growth and success of our division under her leadership.”

He continued: “I would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dan Choo for his incredible leadership over the years. Dan’s unwavering dedication and vision have played an instrumental role in advancing both our division and the field of pediatric otolaryngology. His legacy of success has set a high standard for all of us, and we are deeply grateful for his contributions.”

Hart has served at Cincinnati Children’s and the University of Cincinnati, where her clinical and academic contributions have made a significant impact. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School, completed her residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, and pursued a clinical fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s.

Hart served as associate chief of staff for Ambulatory Services, where she played an important role in enhancing patient care delivery and streamlining processes for outpatient services. Her leadership and her experience in this role will serve her well as she steps into the position of division director.

Throughout her career, Hart has been recognized for her excellence in teaching, receiving numerous accolades such as the Faculty Teaching Award and the Making a Difference Award at Cincinnati Children’s. She is also an active member of professional organizations, including the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology.
