Heart Association Funds COVID-19 Research at Cincinnati Children’s

The American Heart Association (AHA) has awarded $200,000 to Cincinnati Children’s as part of an $800,000 award to four centers to fund short-term special projects in its new Health Technologies & Innovation Strategically Focused Research Network.

This funding is in addition to grants announced earlier this month and will focus on rapid technology solutions to address the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.

The Cincinnati Children’s project will be led by Andrea Beaton, MD, and will focus on using point-of-care echocardiography as a triage tool to track ejection fraction for patients with COVID-19.
