Next-Gen MRI Research Gets a Boost

The future of magnetic resonance imaging technology will be shaped, at least in part, by a new research and development center to be based in Cincinnati.

The project reflects a collaboration between Cincinnati Children’s, GE HealthCare, the University of Cincinnati, UC Health, JobsOhio and REDI Cincinnati. The new center of excellence will be located at the University of Cincinnati’s medical campus and will be funded in large part by a grant to GE HealthCare from JobsOhio, the state’s private economic development corporation.

Studies conducted at the new facility will help develop and validate next-generation MRI technology with the goal of increasing accessibility and productivity of MRI scanners and increasing precision and personalization of MRI exams.
