Gittelman Named Ohio AAP Pediatrician of the Year

Frenck honored with William Cotton Pediatrician Advocate Award
Mike Gittelman, MD, a long-time leader in injury prevention, was named Outstanding Pediatrician of the Year by the Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
The award honors Gittelman’s work across 17 years on quality improvement outcomes, injury prevention, smoking cessation, bike helmets and social determinates of health.
Gittelman also has long served as a leader in the Ohio AAP, including roles as a Past President and Board member, as well as District V Vice Chair for the national AAP.

Robert Frenck, MD, Infectious Diseases and Vaccine Research Center, was selected to receive the chapter’s 2022 William Cotton Pediatrician Advocate Award.
Five Cincinnati Children’s experts are presenting their work at the conference, including Frenck, Alissa Conde, MD (Sports Medicine), Kelsey Logan, MD, MPH (Sports Medicine), Kalyani Marathe, MD, MPH (Dermatology), and Chris Peltier, MD (General and Community Pediatrics).
Peltier currently serves as president of the Ohio AAP Chapter and Logan was recently named President-Elect.
