The 2020 Fall Consortium of Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Researchers (CEGIR) Virtual Meeting reached coast to coast among researchers, patient advocacy groups, and representatives of the National Institutes of Health on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.
Dovetailing with the progress by CEGIR patient advocacy groups and clinical and pilot studies this year was the development of the CEGIR Diversity Committee, which provides oversight and perspective to increase awareness and action regarding diversity and health disparities.
CEGIR members and populations meaningfully contributed to the Rare Diseases Clinical Research Network (RDCRN) this year, including promotion and participation in COVID-19 responses and readiness, such as the RDCRN research survey for patients and families with rare diseases about the impact of COVID-19, which closes Dec. 15.
