“You know, I think that’s one thing that I really appreciate here at Cincinnati Children’s, that we have basic science researchers that are really working with clinician-investigators on projects together, because with those discoveries, how do they translate into the actual human and into an actual child? So having that whole translational spectrum is critical.”

Check out a conversation with Tina Cheng, MD, MPH, on Pediapod—the pediatrics podcast from Pediatric Research.

Cheng is the B.K. Rachford Professor and Chair of Pediatrics for the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, director of the Cincinnati Children’s Research Foundation, and chief medical officer at Cincinnati Children’s. In the episode, she shares about her journey in pediatrics, from early experiences that sparked her passion for prevention and public health to critical research and advocacy work on reducing health disparities. She also discusses the evolving role of pediatricians, the importance of holistic care, how research can drive meaningful policy change for children and families, and offers some advice for the next generation of pediatric researchers.
