Cincinnati Children’s Names Anne Boat, MD, as Chief of Anesthesiology

Anne Boat, MD, will join Cincinnati Children’s as Anesthesiologist-In-Chief, effective Jan. 22, 2024.

Boat, a board certified in anesthesiologist and pediatric anesthesiologist, will return to Cincinnati Children’s from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, where she has served as Associate Chief Medical Officer and Director of Fetal Anesthesia since 2018. She is also an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Prior to her time at Lurie, Anne served as Patient Experience Officer in the Center for Patient/Family Experience, Director of Fetal Anesthesia, and Associate Professor of Clinical Anesthesia and Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s. She joined Cincinnati Children’s in 2006 as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesia and Pediatrics.

Boat replaces John McAuliffe, MD, who announced his retirement earlier this year.
