Lecture is part of Envisioning Our Future for Children series, Excellence in Child Health Day and Pediatric Grand Rounds

Mark your calendar: David Erickson, PhD, senior vice president and head of Outreach & Education at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, joins us April 1 for an “Envisioning Our Future for Children” lecture and to kick off our seventh annual Excellence in Child Health Day. Erickson will talk about an initiative within the Federal Reserve called “missing markets,” the notion that child health and investing in children is a missing market, along with a movement to seek alternative ways to invest in children.

His areas of research include community development finance, affordable housing, economic development, and institutional changes that benefit low-income communities. He has been a leader in bringing the health sector together with community development. This collaboration has resulted in numerous conferences and publications, including a cluster of articles in Health Affairs, co-editing four books, and writing two books, The Housing Policy Revolution: Networks and Neighborhoods (2009) and The Fifth Freedom: Guaranteeing an Opportunity-Rich Childhood for All (2023).

Erickson’s lecture is also part of Pediatric Grand Rounds.

Tune in to the free event on April 1.
